A Store to Rev Up Your Wanderlust

Location: Distant Lands Travel Outfitter in Pasadena, California

I probably have passed by this store many times before finally deciding to take a look around inside and I am so glad I did. This is the place that anyone bitten by the travel bug dreams of. Everything you need for your travels is here; everything from maps to luggage to informational books about different locations. A great place to stop by before any trip to learn more about your destination.

The Glory That is Bottega Louie

Location: Bottega Louie in Downtown Los Angeles, California

Yeah I know. Beautiful. And that's not even all. They sometimes change it up and in the front of the restaurant, you are greeted by rows and trees and rainbows of macarons. It's basically heaven. From their crisp white tablecloths and walls, New York style high ceilings, marble floors, and gorgeous displays of sweets, you'll be coming back for more. But be warned...expect a crowd (it's Los Angeles' most rated eatery on Yelp at 11,000+ reviews).

Sweet Tooth Splurges

Location: Godiva in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California

When looking for a place to grab a milkshake, not everyone's first thought is Godiva. Well...everyone should. This was the best (Oreo) shake I've had ever. It was creamy, rich, thick (but not too thick where you can't get it up the straw), and full of flavor (they even add one whole truffle in the shake). Do yourself a favor and go to your nearest Godiva store...
Also, the chocolate covered strawberries here are the best I've had though they're a splurge at $12 for a handful (shown in photo above). It's okay to treat yo'self every now and then.

Copa Vida

Location: Copa Vida Cafe in Pasadena, California

I am a sucker for local coffee shops that make high quality coffee, especially ones with gorgeous interiors. When I say high quality coffee, I mean coffee that you can actually taste that pure coffee bean flavor when you drink it (something I think Starbucks lacks unfortunately). Copa Vida definitely delivers. The taste of their coffee is rich and aromatic and is something one should definitely try when in the area. You really can't go wrong with any of their drinks but my personal favorites are their mocha (iced if weather permits) and their lavender affogato (if available).
